Some people will realize this in 2012, but no we will not have a global realization that our materialistic, ignorant, self loathing species will suddenly change because that kind of change is hard, and people are lazy, and that means re-rooting a lot of our basic structures from shopping to prison reform, to the education system to inter-country relations. We are all beautiful and interconnected, but we cannot expect to have the whole world realize this in such a short period of time, if not ever. We’ll have to see the negative repercussions, the point of no return, to get a major scale change. Better learn how to hunt, camp, survive, and macgyver shit because the end of modern luxury civilization is a-comin’ to us soon.
